Tips for MySpace

Privacy Please
If you want your (or perhaps your teenager's) profile to remain private, just log in to your page and click on Account Settings. Then, under Privacy Settings, click Change Settings. You'll then see a list of privacy options you can check off to limit access to your profile. Your selections will be saved when you click the Change Settings button at the bottom of the page.

Hate how everyone has plastered your Comments area with ugly pictures and tacky animations? If you'd rather get rid of the whole section instead of having to keep deleting individual comments, just add this bit of HTML code to the "I'd Like to Meet:" section when you click on Edit Profile: <div style="position:relative; height:400px; overflow:hidden; border:0px;"><table><tr><td><table><tr><td>

You no longer have to use a third-party solution to display more than eight of your "top friends" on your profile page. After you log in, scroll down to your "My Friend Space" section, and click on the Change My 'Top Friends' item. You can then change the number of your top friends, up to a maximum of 24.

Turn Off
Some people get annoyed—very annoyed—when they land on your profile and your music player automatically starts playing a song. To turn off the autoplay feature, click on Account Settings, then under Music Settings, click Change Settings. Check the "Disable My Player From Automatically Starting" box, then click on Change Settings.

Scroll With It
If you'd like to add a scroll bar to the My Friend Space and Comments areas of your profile, add the following code to the bottom of your "I'd Like to Meet:" section. (Adjust the height and width to your liking.) Note that this inserts a single scroll bar for both sections. <div style="height:400px;width:450px;overflow:auto"><table><tr><td><table><tr><td></div>
